Subsea 7 gets work offshore Egypt
Subsea 7 has secured a contract from Burullus Gas Company for the platform extension and tie-in on the first phase of the West Nile Delta development of BP’s Taurus and Libra fields offshore Egypt.
Offshore work is expected to commence in the second half of 2016 and will utilise three vessels. Rock water 2 will be used as the main hook-up and accommodation vessel, Seven Borealis will perform the offshore lift of the platform extension, and heavy construction vessel Seven Arctic will install the umbilical.
Oeyvind Mikaelsen, executive vice president of Subsea 7, commented: “This contract recognises the value we bring to our clients through early engagement to engineer, design and deliver cost-effective solutions for complex field developments. We look forward to expanding our presence in Egypt and building a long, successful and collaborative relationship with Burullus.”
Subsea 7 didn’t reveal the value of the contract but did say it was in the range of $50m-$150m.
