Shelf Drilling secures contract in Nigeria from Sirius

Dubai-based offshore drilling contractor Shelf Drilling has secured a contract from Sirius Petroleum for its 1981-built jack-up rig Adriatic I to join a drilling program offshore Nigeria.

The contract is for 135 days plus options, and operations are scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter.

The contract follows Shelf Drilling being awarded a new contract and an extension by Eni in the Adriatic Sea last week.
