Shelf Drilling seals Chevron extensions for jackup pair in Thailand

Oslo-listed jackup rig pure-play Shelf Drilling has clinched contract extensions for two of its units working for Chevron offshore Thailand.

The Shelf Drilling Chaophraya and Shelf Drilling Krathong have both been fixed for two years in a deal worth about $197m.

The contract extensions will kick in during the second half of 2025 in direct continuation of the rigs’ current employment.

Last month, Dubai-based Shelf Drilling firmed up long-term deals in Nigeria for Shelf Drilling Achiever and Adriatic I rigs with a combined value of about $234m, excluding mobilisation and demobilisation costs.
