Shelf Drilling jackup gets more work in UK North Sea

Shelf Drilling has secured more work from CNOOC Petroleum Europe for its Shelf Drilling Fortress jackup in the UK North Sea.

Oslo-listed jackup rig pure-play said Monday its North Sea-focussed subsidiary had secured a two-well contract extension, following a firm two-well fixture agreed in August for work until January 2024.

The additional work, worth around $18m, will keep the rig busy until June 2024.

CNOOC has options to secure the unit for two more wells under the initial contract.
