Shelf Drilling fixes jackup rig to Equinor
Shelf Drilling’s Oslo-listed North Sea unit has secured a new contract with Norway’s Equinor for the jackup rig Shelf Drilling Barsk.
The 2016-built rig, formerly known as Noble Lloyd Noble has been fixed for operations at the Sleipner Vest field in the Norwegian continental shelf.
The contract is for two firm wells with the planned start-up of operations expected between May and July 2024. The Dubai-headquartered jackup rig pure-play said that Equinor also has options for two additional wells.
The firm part of the deal should see the rig booked for around 270 days, earning about $61m excluding certain integrated services.
