Shelf Drilling acquires Maersk jackup for $38m

Dubai-headquartered offshore driller Shelf Drilling has entered into an agreement with Maersk Drilling to acquire 2007-built jackup rig Maersk Completer.

Shelf Drilling paid $38m for the rig, and says the deal is in anticipation of securing a long-term contract in the near term.

The Baker Pacific Class 375 design rig is expected to be delivered in January 2020.
