Prize draw to turn one lucky liner digital

Containerlines have until the end of this month to enter a unique prize draw created by Israeli cargo trackers Loginno.

Loginno has announced a competition for small- and medium-sized container lines, and the winner will have 100% of their containers turned into digitally enabled online smart containers. Anyone with a fleet of up to 150,000 containers can apply.

“Your fleet of shipping containers is today an under-utilized asset. With a simple, one-time conversion, it could turn into a fleet of logistic data-miners, and you could greatly benefit from it!,” Loginno states on its website, adding: “With a 100% IoT enabled container fleet, the selected shipping company will be able to extract real time data, unlocking countless logistics benefits”.

The Israeli firm quips that the winner will be propelled into the “Contopia” age – a word it has created, which it says means a world where every shipping container is real-time IoT connected.

“If this proceeds as planned, it means that in 2019 we will see the first container line have a fleet of 100% online containers which in turn allow for a full-sized test of what the possible value improvements are for not only the container line itself, but also for all the other stakeholders involved in the shipping chain,” commented container analyst Lars Jensen from SeaIntelligence Consulting on LinkedIn.
