
P&O Ports scraps French terminal contract
DP World’s P&O Ports has pulled out of a contract to run the port of Sète, a year earlier than its initial three-year contract stipulated. The terminal operator won the contract to run the container terminal at the French Mediterranean port, located 30 km southwest of Montpellier, in July 2017. Multiple French reports suggest the contract has now been scrapped and the port is looking for a new tenant.
The terminal has a 14.5m draft with 457 m of quay and adjacent 2 ha of land and primarily caters for feeder services in the eastern
Officials at DP World have yet to reply to questions sent by Splash earlier today.
