Petrobras taps PXGEO for Campos Basin survey
Marine seismic player PXGEO has won a new contract from Brazil’s Petrobras for a 3D ocean bottom node (OBN) survey in the Campos Basin.
The survey will be acquired in water depths of 2,300 m and last for approximately 10 months.
The project will be PXGEO’s fifth carried out for Petrobras since mid-2021. The most recent OBN contract was announced in March when PXGEO secured a project from the Petrobras-led Sépia consortium in the Santos Basin.
Earlier this month, Peter Zickerman’s firm tapped Sweden’s Saab for more than 20 autonomous underwater vehicles that will be used for deployment and recovery of equipment during ocean bottom surveys.
