PACC Offshore subsidiary sues Makamin for hire in Saudi Arabia
Singapore-based POSH Semco has served Makamin Offshore Saudi with court papers in Saudi Arabia in order to recover around SAR 24.4m ($6.6m) in unpaid charter hire and expenses.
The sum relates to the timecharter of three vessels by Makamin, plus charges for meals and accommodation and interest on the charter rate owed, POSH Semco’s parent company PACC Offshore Services said today.
The group has applied for a court order to compel Makamin to novate its sub-charters for two of the vessels to PACC Offshore’s unnamed nominee.
PACC has also ordered Makamin to withdraw one of the chartered vessels, and said it would suspend the performance of the vessel’s charterparty until the Saudi company does so. “The company has the right to terminate the remaining charterparties,” Singapore-listed group said.
