ONEX takes Great White aframax for $13m
A 1999-built aframax belonging to Prime Marine has finally been sold after months in the shop window. The coated 104,000 dwt Great White, built at Samsung Heavy Industries, has been snapped up by ONEX from the UAE for $13m. Brokers had been touting the ship as a good candidate for conversion.
Dubai-based ONEX specializes in trade, transportation and storage of crude oil and petroleum products such as fuel oil, naphtha and condensate. Its fleet is a mix of suexmaxes, aframaxes, handymaxes and MR product carriers.
Earlier this year, Indonesian line Soechi narrowly failed to buy the Great White.
