
Milaha inks Qatari fibre cable system deal worth $71m
A subsidiary of Qatar’s Milaha has secured an EPCIC contract award for the New Fiber Link Project with the North Oil Company (NOC).
Milaha said that the subsidiary, Halul Offshore Services Company, won a contract worth over QAR 262m ($71.7m). The project is supposed to significantly enhance connectivity and data transmission capabilities within Qatar’s energy sector.
Under the terms of the agreement, the company will undertake the construction of a new fibre cable system from Al Kabaan to Ras Laffan and the Al-Shaheen oil field.
The 140 km cable will be installed using specialised equipment and subsea bridges. After installation, the cable will be buried and protected before being integrated with existing platform assets.

By delivering a state-of-the-art fibre optic cable system, we will support the digital transformation of the energy sector and enhance operational efficiency,” said Fahad bin Saad Al-Qahtani, Milaha CEO.
