Mermaid Maritime secures Qatar subsea cable installation job

Thai subsea specialist Mermaid Maritime’s Qatari business unit has been awarded a subsea cable installation from an existing customer, a global cable manufacturer.

The three-month contract commences in April 2016 and the work scope includes related diving services. Mermaid will utilize chartered-in DP2 construction barge Mubarak Supporter along with other specialised vessels, if required.

Mermaid said the contract has an estimated value of $10m.
