McDermott awarded North Field Expansion FEED contract by Qatar Petroleum

Houston-headquartered McDermott International has been awarded a contract by Qatar Petroleum for front-end engineering and design work for offshore wellhead platforms, pipelines and cables at the North Field Expansion project.

The project scope includes the design of four offshore trunk lines with intra-field pipelines, eight wellhead platforms and power and fiber optic subsea cable rings.

Work will commence immediatley from McDermott’s Doha offices.

McDermott defines the contract as sizeable, putting its value between $1m and $50m.
