Lila Global adds two capes

Anil Sharma’s Lila Global has strengthened ties with COSCO, sealing its third deal this year with the Chinese state-run owner.

The latest purchase marks a shift from wet to dry for Lila Global shortly after buying two VLCCs.

Sources tell Splash that Lila Global has added two more capes, adding the 2006-built CHS Splendor, built at IHI Marine in Japan, for $18m as well as the 2003 vintage, Taiwanese-built Huang Shan for just under $15m.

Sharma runs shipowning unit Lila Global as well as GMS, a top cash buyer for ships heading for demolition.
