Khor Al Zubair Shipping acquires suezmax from Maran Tankers

Khor Al Zubair Shipping, the shipping unit of UAE-based oil and gas trading firm KASCO Group, has acquired the 1998-built suexmax tanker Maran Capella from Greek owner Maran Tankers.

According to shipbroking sources, Khor Al Zubair bought the 159,700 dwt South Korean-built vessel for a price of $11.5m and will use the vessel for storage purposes. MSI’s valuation of the vessel is $12.6m.

Khor Al Zubair currently operates a fleet of five tankers, four of which were acquired in the past year.
