Gulf Energy Maritime puts its handysize tankers up for sale
Dubai’s Gulf Energy Maritime (GEM) has put three chemical tankers up for sale. The sister ships Gulf Moon, Gulf Mist and Gulf Mews are all zinc coated, 37,000 dwt tankers built at Hyundai Mipo in South Korea 11 years ago. The sale would mark GEM’s exit from the handysize tanker sector.
GEM’s fleet consists of 19 vessels spread across different vessel classes including LR2s, LR1s and nine chemical and product tankers. The company’s shareholders include two UAE oil firms as well as Oman Oil Company.
