Egyptian grains giant to develop own fleet
The Egyptian government has given the go-ahead for state-run grains buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) to co-found a bulk shipping company.
The new shipping company, called Atlantic Pacific Company for Shipping and Trade, will now set about building a fleet of owned vessels.
GASC tenders frequently for vegetable oils and wheat, of which it is the world’s largest buyer.
