
Bahri tanker allides with Taiwanese naval vessel in Keelung
Product tanker NCC Sama has allided with Taiwanese naval vessel Ning Yang at Keelung port on Saturday.
The incident happened when the 45,000 dwt vessel was entering a port terminal and it struck the navy ship, which was anchored at port. Both vessels suffered minor damage, and no injuries or leakage were reported from the incident.
The tanker was detained by authorities for investigations after it unloaded its cargo at the port.
According to local reports, the ship’s owner has agreed to pay compensation to the Taiwanese navy for the damage caused by the incident.
The 2012-built NCC Sama is owned by Saudi Arabian owner Bahri Chemicals, which operates a total of 31 product tankers. According to the latest AIS information, the tanker is still anchored at Keelung port.
